Crafter's joyride ^.^

Hello everyone. Welcome our new website Crafter's Joyride.
Stop by for a lot of crafty ideas, inspiring challenges and anything you need to boost your creativity ^.^
To celebrate the event I've decided to create something special. A dreamcatcher for a good luck  ^.^
It turned out  very shiny

For a hoop I used what has remained from an adhesive double-sided tape. I covered it with Tim Holtz Antiqued Bronze distress paint

After that little by little I started to add Tim Holtz Antique Linen distress glitter with help of sticky embossing powder (to the outside and the inside of the hoop ) The sides were covered with Ranger Holographic embossing powder

After that I cut a thick piece of a black card stock with Tim's Scribbles and Splat die and covered the piece with Ranger Holographic embossing powder (I left some pieces in, as you can see. to have some space for embossing powder to show)
tip: don't overheat the powder too much, it melts really quick

The next step was cutting the feathers with Tim Holtz Feather Duo die set, swiping over with some picket fence distress paint and adding color

when the feathers dried I embossed them, distressed the raised areas with sanding paper (adding some color to the raised areas also) and then I added Ranger Mercury Glass stickles following the embossed lines

After that all you need is to add some holes in the loop (you may also find it easier to do so in the very beginning before the embossing).Use any string to put all the pieces together.Enjoy!

thank you for stopping by, wish you crafty inspiration

Vintage travel on a spring break with Eileen Hull and Art with Heart

Hello everyone ^.^
we are having a spring break at Art with Heart this month. And what is spring break without a trailer :)
One more amazing Eileen Hull Sizzix die from an upcoming Vintage Travel collection

a little detail I couldn't resist to add is the roof window that opens up to allow me to store things inside (my favorite thing to do with all the 3D dies )

few tips:
I started with coloring a sticky back canvas with the Iced Spruce distress ink (I wanted to have the clear canvas texture that's why I didn't prime it with gesso or anything like that at all ).
For the top part I colored the self adhesive aluminium foil with light colors of distress paints and stamped some floral images

the top window was cut after I put the trailer together, it was a bit tricky but with little patience I had my opening ready to go ^.^ To cover it I embossed some clear plastic with Eileen Hull's Sunburst embossing folder and secured it with staples.

Thank you for stopping by ^.^

Share with us you spring break creations at Art with Heart April challenge. One lucky participant will win a Vintage Travel die. We can't wait to see what you'll create

A is for...April

a quick project for Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge "A is for..."

recipe: first of all I used light modeling paste with Tim's Latticework stencil, after that I applied  Iced Spruce, Tattered Rose, Tea Die and Worn Lipstick distress inks, finally I had the chance to use my newly acquired Tim's stamp set Bird Feather (adore it but I was not sure if I could use it well, I hope turned out not so bad), to tone down bright colours I applied Faber-Castell white gelato and for the finishing touch lots of Perfect Pearls mist ^.^

as you can see below I used a looooooot of Perfect Pearls mist, probably I'm inspired by sunshiny days we have here lately

P.S. thank you for stopping by ^.^
