a mini from Project Life cards

An idea on how you can use your Project Life cards to create quick and simple mini album. Created especially for Crafter's Joyride as a design team member.

for the cover I used a thick cardstock suitable for watercolor techniques, which of course I did with use of few Tim Holtz inks and reinkers. But before applying water and inks I heat embossed the cover with the MusicNotes background stamp and white embossing powder. For the finishing touch I added some texture paste stars with a help of the Confetti stencil.

for the inner pages first of all I had to decide the order, the composition and which of them will be whole and which one will be folded to create pockets for the smaller cards.

the folded cards (as you can see above) were glued in a way to create different pockets, I did the same thing for the smaller cards adhered to the full pages of a mini.

for the binding I used a Crop-A-Dile to make holes and SewEasy floss to bing the pages with cover.
I adhered some floss between the inner and outer side of the cover for the closure.

Inside I added photos and quotes that inspire me at the moment.
Enjoy ^.^

thank you for stopping by. have a nice Sunday ^.^

Crafter's joyride ^.^

Hello everyone. Welcome our new website Crafter's Joyride.
Stop by for a lot of crafty ideas, inspiring challenges and anything you need to boost your creativity ^.^
To celebrate the event I've decided to create something special. A dreamcatcher for a good luck  ^.^
It turned out  very shiny

For a hoop I used what has remained from an adhesive double-sided tape. I covered it with Tim Holtz Antiqued Bronze distress paint

After that little by little I started to add Tim Holtz Antique Linen distress glitter with help of sticky embossing powder (to the outside and the inside of the hoop ) The sides were covered with Ranger Holographic embossing powder

After that I cut a thick piece of a black card stock with Tim's Scribbles and Splat die and covered the piece with Ranger Holographic embossing powder (I left some pieces in, as you can see. to have some space for embossing powder to show)
tip: don't overheat the powder too much, it melts really quick

The next step was cutting the feathers with Tim Holtz Feather Duo die set, swiping over with some picket fence distress paint and adding color

when the feathers dried I embossed them, distressed the raised areas with sanding paper (adding some color to the raised areas also) and then I added Ranger Mercury Glass stickles following the embossed lines

After that all you need is to add some holes in the loop (you may also find it easier to do so in the very beginning before the embossing).Use any string to put all the pieces together.Enjoy!

thank you for stopping by, wish you crafty inspiration

Going on a spring break? Don't forget your travel cases ^.^

Today I have for you a project made with Train Case die, one more gorgeous Eileen Hull's die from her new Sizzix collection Vintage Travel.

very inspiring die and it was very fun to work with, interested in how to make this yourself? read below ^.^

first of all I took dimensions of the box and cut some Core'dinations cardstock, embossed it with Eileen's Sunburst embossing folder, distressed it and adhered to the box

after that I covered all the box with white paint (Deco Art Titanium white), but let some texture and black color below it to show. When the paint was dry I added some Broken China distress ink here and there

for more texture I applied distress crackle paint

and then sepia archival ink to highlight the raised areas

some of the case details I wanted to look like faux leather, so the easiest way for me was just to cut some Tim Holtz grunge paper and color it with Vintage photo distress ink

the hinges were inspiration from Shelly Hickox  (which creative spirit I secretly admire (Hello Shelly ;) )technique Faux Tarnished Silver , with the only difference that I added and melted the UTEE and the silver embossing powder simultaneously

The technique above was also the one I used to create Anna-Karin's baby shover gift - Tiny Adventurer's Log
