mini album for the Memories Trend (part 1)

Hello everyone.
I was in the mood for some recycling these days so I searched through my paper stash and guess what I found...mini paper bags and few craft envelopes..."Mini album!" I though...if only I knew... it took me quite some days (a loooot) to finish, tons of photos of the project and for the tutorial, my crafting space became a total mess, but after all it was totally worth it.
The album measures 20x13cm , I used total of 7 paper bags and 2 craft envelopes, I call it mini album (not sure if it qualifies though), but the project itself (the amount of a work done, photos and tutorial) is rather huge, that's why I'll break my post in to 2 parts. Today I will show you how I did the binding
and some photos of the project and tomorrow I'll share with you more details on some of the particular pages binding and the cover.

unfortunately I didn't have enough time to choose some photographs for the album, so I left a white space instead

that were few of the pages and now lets move on with how to ^.^

for starters we need to score and fold the paper bags, try not to score too hard, usually this paper tears quite easily (as for dimensions of a flap start from 2cm at least )

after that you need to adhere the bag sides

to make pages sturdier I have inserted a thick card stock inside of each bag and adhered it to the back

you might have noticed that the first page was a bit smaller and also had an extra top pocket for a photo mat, to achieve that I made a cut on one of the smaller bag sides instead of  gluing it.
when adding a thicker card stock I glued it partially.

before binding the pages together I added the main layer of the patterned paper.
when binding you only add adhesive to the outer sides of the flap you created .

 the final result

p.s. thank you for stopping by, stop by tomorrow for part 2 ^.^

Clean and Simple

How many times were you thinking of creating something handmade but couldn't because of the so limited free time we all have during the day? Sometimes crafting may become really challenging and exhausting and that's why I love clean and simple projects. Such projects can turnaround your mood and brighten someones day or even yours :)))
So enough chatting and how about clean and simple card for today? ^.^

*Start by cutting some patterned paper, one piece is going to be our card's base and the other will be used on top of the card (so naturally you would like it to be a bit smaller in order to create a nice and clean border )

regarding the card dimensions: frankly speaking I never think about such things and just go more instinctively and according to the composition I'm planning to have, in other words any size that suits you is fine, don't forget that our main goal here is to have some relaxing and creative time ^.^

*The second step is to fold the bigger piece of paper in half (scoring boards are the best for this job).
The smaller one we are going to use with new Tim Holtz thinlits die, so we'll end with piece of paper with heart shape opening and intricate sketchy heart die cut
*To finish the project all you need is to adhere the paper with heart shape opening over the base of a card with some 3D squares or foam tape to add dimension to your card. I glued the heart inside the opening as you can see and added some stickers from Kaisercraft Bow and Arrow collection. And that's all ^.^

P.S. Thank you for stopping by ^.^ Hope you had creative and relaxing time

inspired shabby tag

Sometimes I'm full of inspiration, today for example, I made a flowery tag for Get Creative challenge in less than a 4 hours(paper, embellishments, especially design that is the most hard part for me at the moment),it's probably my record of time spent on creating something. But all this wouldn't be possible if there wasn't so much talented crafters all around the world to inspire all us, their humble students :D. My todays inspiration was one of the techniques I found on the Tammy Tutterow page,so I took a sticky back canvas and transfered a design from patterned paper on it.

I'm also participating with this tag at SSS challenge Flower Power! ^.^. Wish me luck.

Thank you for visiting. Wish you luck and happy creating ^.^

canvas-photo holder

as a recent gift to my close friend I decided to create a  canvas that can hold a photograph (instead of old boring photo frame) ^.^ Here's the result. I hope you like it
