vintagy balsa tag

It's amazing what you can do with just a plain balsa wood, some inks and paints and of course favorite  embellishments ^.^

first of all I used a TimHoltz Alterations Tag die to cut the wood (balsa is very very light and thin wood so it's very easy! just right through the Big Shot! ^.^)

little detail about my wings:I adhered the lace with double sided tape so this way I could fill lace's empty spaces with embossing tinsel (just love it's rough texture before it gets melted)

I used everywhere a lot of small and mini stamps because I'm participating in SSS challenge : Little stamping. So wish me good luck^.^

Thank you for visiting. Wish you inspiration and happy creating ^.^

  4. Thank you for the sweet tutorial and letting us know about balsa wood and its great potential. It certainly adds wonderful texture and lovely warm tones, as well. The wings are beautiful, too. Thank you for sharing and good luck at SSS :)

    1. Thank you very much and I really love to share everything I learn or invent! ^.^ And it's amazing how many colors and tones you can give to balsa as it's has a plain white color (for me the best results were achieved with distress inks ^.^, really nice coloring, layering and texture)

  5. Ok ... the balsa wood tag is such a fantastic idea!!!! I love how you hinged them together to create a frame for such a lovely photo. Your lace-covered wings on top of the warm wood tones of the tag are really lovely. Beautiful project! Congrats on your spotlight at SSS&S!! -- Mary Elizabeth
